LADA Vesta Cross – the serial production has been launched
April, 25, 2018, the serial production of the LADA Vesta Cross sedan was launched. The first cars came off the assembly line in LADA Izhevsk.
The sedan LADA Vesta Cross is the first car in its segment, combining the unusual design and classic body style with the latest market trends and with the additional functionality of crossover.
Style and engineering solutions earlier used in the model LADA Vesta SW Cross are applied in car design. These are protective plastic body kit and special chassis setup, combining high off-road capability and reckless handling. The sedan LADA Vesta Cross has a record for its class ground clearance of 203 mm.
16 sedans LADA Vesta Cross have passed the road and bench tests to ensure exemplary reliability and quality. The total mileage on asphalt, dirt and cobblestone roads was 700 K kilometers.
At the plant in Izhevsk the sedan LADA Vesta Cross passes a full cycle of production: stamping of body panels, molding of plastic parts, welding and painting of the body, assembly line, which includes the control and the measuring laboratory, equipped with 3D-measuring machines that check the compliance of the body geometry with its mathematical model. The painting shop, which is one of the best painting complexes in Russia, is equipped with painting robots of the German company DURR. Also the plant has a cataphoresis line of chassis’ units and fully robotic painting shop of plastic parts.
Special attention by car production is paid to the quality control system, which includes both permanent monitoring of the tightening torque connections, and the final check of the ready-made car on consistently located posts. The geometry of the wheels and lights is made here, and also there are dynamic test of vehicle, the test stand of the braking system, the tester of electronic systems, camera of water-tightness test. 100% of cars pass through the test line. The result of each test is recorded in the card of vehicle assembly control and stored minimum for 5 years.
The sedan LADA Vesta Cross is the fourth car of the LADA Vesta family. Currently, LADA Izhevsk produces the sedan LADA Vesta, and models Vesta SW and Vesta SW Cross. The production rate is 30 cars per hour.
